Learn MoreClassical Ballet Education Since 1958
Since its inception the school has established a reputation for the highest standards in classical ballet education. Excellence in training, artistic integrity, technique, correct physical development, and personal discipline are balanced with pure aesthetic vision, emphasizing the joy, beauty, and tradition of classical ballet.
Year-Round Programs
The school is open to students ages 3 to adult who are interested in classical ballet. Classes are offered at five levels: pre-primary, beginner, intermediate, advanced, and professional.
Pre-Primary Classes
Ages 3 - 5
In this half-hour class, we associate ballet steps with animals. We work on children's balance, coordination, stretching, memory, listening to the teacher, and following directions. For some, it is the first time they leave their parents in the waiting room!
Beginner Classes
Ages 5 - 11
Beginner levels 1, 2, and 3 are one-hour classes for students ages 5 to 11. From September to June, students learn Russian-style classical ballet and follow a French syllabus, gaining strength, good posture, and self-esteem. Along with the required ballet barre work, students learn adagio, allegro, and waltz.
Intermediate Classes
Intermediate Level Students
Intermediate classes cover a range of work, including pre-pointe, pointe, and ballet technique. Students also learn combinations of steps from different ballets, with a greater focus on core strength.
Advanced Classes
Advanced Level Students
This 1½-hour advanced class is intended for dedicated pre-professional and professional dancers who are serious about their ballet training. Dancers learn to perform steps to a variety of music and tempos, and study choreography from the historic repertoire.
If you are serious about ballet, I can't imagine anywhere else you would be.
This is my daughter’s second year with Brae Crest. She has years of experience in dance and ballet but all very general. Making the transition was the smartest decision for her. She adores ballet. Her passion for ballet is stronger than ever. She has goals to work towards and opportunities for performing. I am thrilled that she has Brae Crest to help her grow into a beautiful ballerina.
Family-owned studio with generations of dancers returning year after year adds something really special.
There's a strong sense of community and tradition that makes you feel like you're part of something meaningful. Ms. Shana and Ms. Ana are kind, passionate, and truly invested in each student’s progress. Brae Crest is a beautiful place for young dancers to develop discipline, grace, and self-expression.
Brae Crest Ballet has been a wonderful experience for my daughter and family.
From the moment we walked through the doors, we felt welcomed and supported. The instructors and counselors are not only incredibly skilled but also patient, encouraging, and genuinely passionate about nurturing each dancer’s growth, technically and artistically during camp.
Ballet's Historic Venue
Located in a beautiful woodland, our historic venue is a place where special memories are created.
Ballet in the Summer Time
A rewarding dance experience that is uniquely designed for students to enjoy in the summer. While some students must travel far for expensive summer programs, BCSB has created intensive day programs which educate and give exposure to dancers right here in Rhode Island.
